As part of our current high-growth phase, we are looking for a Purchasing Assistant to join the team to support the Purchasing Team with their day-to-day duties, including creating purchase orders, maintaining vendors, and regular liaison with suppliers, stores and internal teams.


  • Key responsibilities will include:_
  • Assisting with the smooth running of the Purchasing Team
  • Creation of Purchase Orders
  • Supporting the purchase of indirect goods such as equipment and office supplies
  • Supporting the management of prototype components (supply chain)
  • Issuing RFIs (Request for Information) to potential new production suppliers
  • Maintaining vendors on the system, including creating new vendors, sending NDAs and keeping documents up to date
  • Following up on orders and delivery dates on a regular basis
  • Dealing with accounts queries on supplier invoices
  • Providing exceptional customer service to key internal and external departments
  • Additional purchasing related reporting and administration as required.
  • Skills and experience required:_
  • Previous proven experience within a similar role, ideally within a manufacturing environment.
  • GCSE or equivalent education passes in Maths and English
  • Accurate and efficient data entry skills
  • Strong IT skills including Outlook, Excel and Word
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure within a fastpaced environment with a high number of SKUs
  • Highly organised and with good attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to prioritise a varied workload
  • Adaptable and open to change
  • Positive, "cando" attitude
  • Ability to work effectively within a small team as well as under own initiative
  • A flexible approach to work.
  • Desirable:_
  • Experience using ERP systems.
