Mablethorpe Joinery Services are searching for an enthusiastic new apprentice, to support and train in all aspect of bench joinery.

With mentoring and college training, you will manufacture, maintain and assemble a wide range of products, including; doors, windows, stairs, furniture and kitchen units.


Working week
4 days per week, with some flexibility to accommodate travel or public transport)

Total hours per week: 31


What will the apprentice be doing?

If you enjoy working practically and have a genuine interest to training to become a qualified Joiner, this could be the perfect job for you.

You will work 4 day per week, with mentoring from our highly skilled team, as well as attending college for one day each week to gain valuable underpinning knowledge with practical examples.


Your duties will include:

  • Measuring, settingout and marking timber for manufacture
Using bench/hand tools

  • After training and induction, you will operate fixed workshop machinery
  • Create, fit and assemble components, including; doors, windows, open lights, units, furniture, staircases and more
  • Calculate the most efficient use of materials
  • Maintain a clear and tidy workspace
  • Carry out quality checks and remedial work
  • All other associated duties as required

Level 2 Apprenticeship Standard - Carpentry & Joiner (Architectural Joiner)
A Bespoke programme of practical, technical and vocational learning
Functional Skills in maths and English at Level 1 (if applicable)

Things to consider
Mablethorpe Joinery Services in based on the Golf Road Industrial Estate in Mablethorpe (LN12 1NB). Please check the location, and ensure you would be able to report for work on a daily basis.

This apprenticeship runs on a day-release model, and you will be required to attend college at The Grimsby Institute, Nuns Corner, Grimsby, DN34 5BQ once each week (term time only).

There is a free college bus service available from Mablethorpe.
