Our roles often involve working with Defra's senior leaders or major programmes to help better understand delivery challenges or provide pragmatic solutions to challenging delivery problems.

Our input is critical in delivering Defra's challenging and important agenda and in enabling Defra's top boards and senior leaders to make effective and timely decisions.

We have a highly complex portfolio of work that requires the highest quality advice.

The department is also committed to radically enhancing the way data is used to influence key delivery decisions - an ambition where this team plays a central role.

As a senior delivery advisor you will engage with programmes and policy teams across Defra to identify delivery challenges and scope out useful interventions.

You will work alongside our Secretary of State's Delivery Unit to drive forward progress against SoS key delivery priorities.

Some of the activities that this role will deliver include:

  • Create compelling written products and presentations to deliver the insights required by senior stakeholders
  • Provide highquality briefings and communication in person to senior stakeholders
  • Review and evaluate your and the team's work and proactively develop improved methodologies and ways of working
  • Play an active leadership role in the Delivery and Analysis Team, including helping with wider teambuilding activities
  • Understand complex data, models and analytical products to build robust evidence for decisionmaking
This list isn't exhaustive but provides an overview of the activities the role will carry out.
