We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Executive Head Housekeeper to join our team and uphold our standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction.


Position Overview:

Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the daily operations of the housekeeping department, including scheduling, training, and performance management of staff.


Conduct regular inspections of all 170 guest bedrooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces to ensure cleanliness and adherence to brand standards.

Develop and implement cleaning procedures and protocols to maintain a safe and sanitary environment for guests and staff.

Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring adequate stock levels and cost-effective purchasing practices.


Collaborate with other departments, such as maintenance and front office, to address guest requests and maintenance issues in a timely manner.

Monitor guest feedback and implement improvements to enhance the overall guest experience.

Maintain a safe working environment for staff by enforcing safety standards and procedures.


Job Duties:

  • Ensure that all bedrooms and public rooms are serviced and cleaned daily ready for 3pm check in.
  • Prepare and conduct daily, weekly, periodic deep cleaning regimes
  • Ensure that VIP rooms receive the designated care and attention.
  • Ensure an adequate supply of clean linen in a good state of repair.
  • Ensure that rooms are checked regularly for repairs and refurbishing, and that appropriate maintenance is completed.
  • Liaise with Maintenance Manager and notify them of areas in need of attention pertaining to décor, fixtures and fittings.
  • Ensure that staff are coached and trained to perform their duties effectively.
  • Ensure that staffing levels are correct, to manage business levels
  • Ensure that adequate supplies of cleaning materials are available.
  • Ensure that staff areas are kept clean and in a good state of repair.
  • Ensure that regular Health & Safety within the department is followed.
  • Ensure effective communications through attending meetings and imparting information at regularly held staff meetings with housekeepers.
  • Prepare and submit, in the required format, all information necessary for budgeting purposes.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a supervisory or managerial role within the housekeeping department of a hotel minimum of 5 years.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High level of attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Effective communication skills with individuals at all levels of both inside and outside the organisation
  • Knowledge of cleaning techniques, products, and equipment.
  • Strong negotiation skills and understanding of supplier relations including quotation and ordering processes
  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations and procedures.
  • Ability to follow through and complete overlapping projects
  • High level of sound and independent judgment, reasoning, and discretion
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Previous experience with hotel property management systems (PMS) is an asset.

Working Conditions:

  • May be exposed to waste, infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc. that are consistent with hotel housekeeping
  • Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals
  • Overtime as required
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull, and move a minimum of 25 pounds
