A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Interim Head of Events & Volunteer Engagement within a leading not for profit membership education organisation just outside of High Wycombe, Bucks

6 month contract paying 60-65k plus fabulous benefits including bonus

Hybrid position requiring office attendance around once a week

The purpose of this Head of Events and Volunteer Engagement role will be to support the transformation of the companys events and volunteering to ensure they deliver a high profile service within their niche sector


Responsibilities of the Head of Events and Volunteer Engagement role

  • Acting as the lead across member, volunteering and academic events, the role holder will champion
the needs of members, volunteers, academia and other stakeholders to ensure all events support the
potential for these groups.

  • You will guide the organisation's strategy and implementation of events thus educating and bringing value to members and volunteers.
  • You will lead the teams responsible for the development and delivery of the events and volunteering programme, ensuring consistency with the strategic direction and priorities of the organisation

Qualifications and skills required for the Head of Events and Volunteer Engagement role:

  • Educated to degree level or possess a relevant business qualification
  • Management qualification desirable
  • Experience of developing and delivering virtual, hybrid and face to face events
  • Experience of leading a commercial events programme in a small to medium sized organisation
  • Experience of planning and delivering large scale events
  • Experience of managing teams
  • Experience of working in a membership organisation or a professional body desirable
  • Experience of working at senior management level desirable

  • Ability to work with and build relationships with staff at all levels and with external stakeholders
  • Ability to lead and support a team through change
  • Commercially astute with an ability to market scan and spot opportunities for event propositions
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
