Independent Committee Advisor (Housebuilding Experience).

LiveWest, Housing Association, Exeter.

Potential springboard to a future Non-Executive role (c10 days pa commitment).

Cognisant Search is delighted to have been instructed to appoint an Independent Committee Advisor (development) on behalf of LiveWest, the largest housing association operating across the South West.

They own and manage over 39,000 homes from Cornwall to Gloucester, with ambitious plans to invest £2bn in the South West economy over the next 10 years and to build 6,000 new homes over the next five.

Responsibilities include:

Work closely with and support the development committee Chair and Executive Director of Development, acting as a soundboard and advisor
Act as a voting member of our development committee to constructively challenge and ensue that development activities comply with strategy
Contribute to ensuring that obligations to stakeholders are understood and reflected in strategy and policies
Scrutinise and review performance against agreed targets and budgets
Be a role model for good governance practices and LiveWest's values and behaviours

We are keen to speak with senior housebuilding professionals who have an interest in social housing and the South West area.

Ideally you will have held a senior post within a housebuilding or partnership environment, at Managing Director, Regional Chairman level or above.

LiveWest has a challenging development pipeline, and your experience will be crucial.

You will be given all the training and mentoring required to help you transition into the role, which will give you the skills and experience to take on a non-executive role in the future.

Typical annual commitment will be 4 quarterly committee meetings plus preparation (4 days), a 2-day board away day and training c3 days, once inducted.
