A rare and exciting opportunity to join our friendly team in the Amberley day unit.

This is a brand new unit that provides systemic anti cancer treatment and supportive care to cancer and medical patients.


To manage the reception area and provide administration support and assist the team in maintaining the smooth running of the Day Unit and outpatient's clinic.


Directly responsible to Amberley unit Manager, the post holder will be required to work with the multidisciplinary team, patients, their relatives and visitors attending the unit.


  • To receive, admit and discharge patients using the patient administration system.
  • To receive and make telephone calls on behalf of the unit referring these as appropriate.
  • To participate in the use of IT and electronic clinical systems within the department keeping computerbased information up to date and amended as necessary.
  • To review treatment outcomes and dispatch letters and follow up appointments as required.
  • Order supplies and equipment using Integra at the direction of the unit Manager.

  • Workload is supervised.
  • To undertake clerical duties relating to documentation for patients
  • Make further follow up appointments and transport arrangements as directed by the nursing/medical staff.
  • Resolve patient queries relating to appointments, patient transport or anything relevant to the unit.
  • Ensure all patient details are up to date, checking against the current IT system and paper records for accuracy.
  • Maintain confidentiality of information about patients, staff and other health service business.
