Managing Director

£100k-120k + bonus/profit share

London (hybrid)


Our client is seeking an outstanding MD to spearhead the next level of growth for this well-established and highly respected events; conferences; and training business.

Working hand-in-hand with the CEO/founder, you will bring drive; ambition; creativity;attention to detail; and self-evident strong leadership qualities.


With ambitious, but realistic, growth aspirations, you will have experience of launching innovative products into new markets, for instance Critical Infrastructure and Transport, complementing the CEO's qualities, and bringing out the best from each aspectof the business.


Our client is currently a team of 11, due to expand to 15 by March 2023, and scaling up to 40 within five years.

To enable this growth, they are hiring a management layer, and a dynamic; determined; results
- and detail-orientated Managing Director is a priority.
The MD will lead the business into the next growth phase and beyond.


You will have extensive events content and production experience, and a fantastic track record of delivering high-quality research-driven conferences in international markets.

You will have a flair for product development, with exceptional relationship-buildingskills, and outstanding people management skills, as well as expertise in personal development plans and capabilities.


  • 2:1 undergraduate degree or higher in the sciences; business/economics; or humanities (Master's highly desirable);
  • Influential communicator who can long term relationships with industryleading professionals;
  • Motivating team leader, able to activate high performance, engagement and loyalty, and deliver consistent results;
  • Collaborative and cooperative team player, able to influence and support peers in achieving the common goal;
  • Strategic thinker, connected to the big picture and able to input into the longterm strategic direction of the business;
  • Detailorientated, able to keep multiple projects on target;
years' experience in events marketing (conferences or confexes);

  • Production/Product or operations experience;
  • Strong managerial experience management of internal team performance and development;
  • Heading up all business functions: Marketing, Sales, Production, Ops/Logistics;
  • P&L management.
