    Wardell Armstrong LLP is a multi-disciplinary environmental consultancy with offices throughout the UK employing c. 500 staff. We have been providing expert archaeological and heritage services for over 25 years. Our Archaeology team is based at 6 of Wardell Armstrong's UK offices. Our largest centres are in Bury St Edmunds and Carlisle and are home to our purpose-built facilities which also provide the full range of post-excavation services as well as being bases for fieldwork operations. We can offer a diversity of experience on numerous project types and a genuine chance to develop professionally.

    We are looking for Field Archaeologists and Senior Field Archaeologists on a casual/temporary basis for a project in Lincolnshire area.

    Archaeologists - Ideally, we are looking for archaeologists with at least 3 months of site experience in commercial archaeology, but we will also consider graduates and applicants with equivalent alternative experience and qualifications.

    Our Senior Archaeologists support us with writing up reports, completing smaller scale reports (with support from our wider team), and making significant contribution to larger scale reporting. To this end you should have or be willing to develop your report writing skills, working understanding of Harris Matrix software, and the ability to interpret your findings on site. The successful candidate should be an excellent communicator, able to support both new and more experienced members of our field team. You should be confident in your recording skills on site, and ideally have experience of working in both paper-based, and digital recording systems. Knowledge of GIS recording and use GPS equipment is desirable.

    The ideal candidates should have:

    · Practical experience of working on archaeological sites/For Seniors experience of supervising site work

    · A degree in archaeology or equivalent experience.

    · Driving license & Car is essential along with the willingness to travel across the UK.

    Desirable:

    · CIfA membership at PCIfA level.
