We have a fantastic opportunity for a Deputy Head of Security to work in our dynamic team to join The Belfry Hotel and Resort, England's leading Hotel and Resort.

Our award-winning resort has 320 bedrooms, Rosette standard dining, five food and beverage outlets, fantastic leisure facilities, and of course what we are famous for golf.


About the role


Hours of work are 45 per week, with flexible shift patterns to suit the needs of the team and business.


The Deputy Head of Security will direct and co-ordinate the overall activities of the Security Department, guaranteeing the safety of all guests, employees, hotel property, and data.

You would be responsible for the direction and control of security activities, ensuring that financial and guest satisfaction objectives are met.

The duties of our Deputy Head of Security include:

  • Managing the Security Team, developing and training where necessary and ensuring all hold relevant and current qualifications and accreditations
  • Creating and coordinating relevant and necessary resortwide security training
  • Briefing Management and Supervisors on special events, function, VIP arrivals and other events
  • Liaising with external bodies / authorities to brief in special events with heightened security requirements
  • Conducting regular operational meetings to review, monitor, adjust and upgrade the performance of the security department
  • Recruitment and vetting of Security Team
  • Ensuring that CCTV and controls systems are maintained to be operational at all times
  • Periodical security audits of stock items
  • Building relations with local police force and other relevant bodies to encourage strong working practises
  • Investigating cases which have taken place. Assisting Police to carry out investigative work should serious and criminal cases occur, conducting internal investigation and recommendations as well as procedural improvements
  • Revising policies and procedures where failure have occurred
  • Auditing and reporting on security logs, incident records etc.

Salary
The on target earning potential for this role is £34,500 annual salary, compromising of a base salary of £33,088 plus a qualified estimate of £1,400 gratuities per annum


About you


To excel in this role, you will have exceptional communication skills at all levels, and be able to build strong relationships and whilst maintaining strict confidentiality and departmental reputation.

Our new Deputy Head of Security will have worked in a leadership security role previously, supervising a large and complex area - e.g.

resort, school, hospital, police facilities, etc.


In addition, you will:


  • Have strong People Management skills and be passionate about the development and motivation of the Security Team
  • Be proactive and forwardthinking, with the ability to identify opportunities for improvement
