Part Time Events Assistant

Membership Institution

Central London

Basic Salary £35,000 Pro Rata plus excellent benefits

Permanent, Part Time, 3 Days a Week


My client a membership institution with a historical building in the city of London is currently recruiting for a Part Time Events Assistant.


Responsibilities and Duties for the Part Time Events Assistant


Provide administrative assistance with the coordination and delivery of Company events, including the creation, printing and collation of menus, place cards and seating plans, and the printing and distribution of cards.

The events range from numerous smalllunches to large formal dinners, as well as church services and ceremonies.


Assist with the preparation of meetings (various Committees), including distribution of papers, confirming attendance and room set-up - liaison with Committee Members, caterers and other suppliers where required.


Book accommodation and travel arrangements for the annual Court Visit, and ad-hoc arrangements for visits conducted by wider Court members.


Maintain office supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies.

To support longer-term projects including the database.


Skills and Qualifications:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Attention to detail - advance planning, forward-thinking

Familiarity with contemporary office cloud platforms, ideally Google Workspace

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word including mailmerge procedures

Proficiency in the 'Windows' environment especially management of a folder structure

Strong organisation skills

Shows initiative

Ability to work in a team and on their own without supervision

Positive attitude

Ability to adapt and be flexible.


Education and training requirements:

GCSEs or equivalent, including English and Maths.

High standard of General IT skills.
