    Job summary

    To act as PCFT representative at local Tameside borough MARAC meetings, sharing relevant mental health or learning disability information to inform discussions and decision making.

    Main duties of the job

    To attend regular local MARAC meetings as a Trust representative and feed into this process. Liaise with multi-agency partners in the MARAC To complete comprehensive research in preparation for MARAC Complete and contribute to reports for victims and/or perpetrators who are open to mental health 16/11/22 JME MARAC Representative Band 6o Inform mental health colleagues and update systems regarding MARAC processes and risk To refer victims identified as high risk into the MARAC process and to attend MARAC to advocate on their behalf to ensure their needs and wishes are reflected in action To undertake dynamic assessments which explore; family history, family functioning, interpersonal relationships, behaviour management (self and family) barriers to education and work, barriers to independence and self- management. To produce or contribute to clear action plans with outcomes based on robust To understand the legal framework relating to the protection of children, including the policies and procedures of the Local Safeguarding Children's To escalate to management any cases where there are ongoing safeguarding or risk management To ensure any recommendations from Domestic Homicide Reviews are embedded into service provision.

    Job responsibilities

    To act as PCFT representative at local borough MARAC meetings, sharing relevantmental health or learning disability information to inform discussions and decisionmaking. MARAC is a meeting where information is shared on the highest risk domesticabuse cases between representatives of local police, health child protection, housingpractitioner, Independent Domestic Violence Advisors (IDVAs), probation and otherspecialists from the statutory and voluntary feedback outcomes into the Trusts care planning, risk assessment andsafeguarding act as a representative to ensure that the voice of the child and vulnerable adultsis heard where domestic violence is a factor in their provide specialist advice, guidance and training to staff of all disciplines provide specialist mental health subject knowledge to MARAC partner agencies tosupport understanding around mental health concerns/processes/appropriate accessto promote and work to, the aims and objectives of the Domestic Violence and abuse duties and responsibilities To attend regular local MARAC meetings as a Trust representative and feedinto this process.     Person Specification

    Education/Qualifications

    Essential

  • Relanvant professional qualification eg: RGN/RMN/DipSW
  • Completion of preparation for Mentorship / Practice Teacher/ Fieldwork Education qualification
  • Evidence of relevant ongoing CPD to post graduate diploma level.
  • Desirable

  • Training in domestic abuse programmes, for example, Freedom.
  • Training in brief psychosocial interventions.
  • Experience

    Essential

  • Previous experience of working directly with and supporting victims and perpetrators.
  • xperience of working in a multiagency role and/or environment.
  • Experience of working independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience of challenging individuals from an empathic and motivated approach to produce positive outcomes
  • Experience of giving advice and guidance to others, including staff in own organisation and other agencies
  • Experience of supporting/working with at least two of the following: o victims of domestic abuse o those going through the Criminal and/or Civil Justice System o victims of Force Marriage / Honour Based Violence / vulnerable people
  • Desirable

  • Experience of working within the domestic violence arena
  • Experience of working with households who find services difficult to access or are service reliant
  • Primary Care mental health work experience.
  • Experience of working with a psychological model of care.
  • Experience of Triaging
  • Knowledge

    Essential

  • Theoretical and practical knowledge & understanding of Domestic Violence legislation, guidelines & policies
  • Understanding of child protection issues and legal responsibilities.
  • Knowledge of impact of Domestic abuse on victims and children
  • Understanding of equal opportunities issues and a commitment to the Trust's equal opportunities policy.
  • Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both orally and in writing with people from a range of backgrounds
