An opportunity has become available to start as a teaching assistant to work with students with autism in the Lowestoft area.
The role is to work in a school with a special provision that provides the best and most suitable learning environment for students with special educational needs.
This role gives you the opportunity to engage in a learning style that is student focussed and allows for a creative teaching style.
Within the school you will be working alongside therapeutic and educational practices such as sensory rooms, alternative communication, care plans suited to the students, and much more.
The school also provides extracurricular activities such as outside PE lessons based on exploring movement, cooking classes and many other activities to engage the students, and the teachers in an exciting approach to learning.
You will also be working in small classes, with a team of TA's to provide as many opportunities as possible for one to one teaching.
Your Role:
Your role as a teaching assistant will be to:
- Engage the students in the learning
- Assist the Teacher in carrying out the lesson plan
- Engaging in one to one care for the students when necessary
- Ensuring safeguarding is maintained at all times
- Assist with break and lunch times
- Ensure all students needs are met
- Engage students in extracurricular activities
- Maintain the cleanliness of the classroom, to upkeep a safe learning environment

- Have an understanding of safeguarding and maintain this throughout all aspects of the role
