People Advisor Circa £30,000 DOE*
Fixed term - 12 months
Our brilliant People Team is looking for an experienced People Advisor.

This is an exciting opportunity that would suit someone who has experience, drive and passion for employee relations and project focused work.

Our People team is filled with enthusiastic HR professionals working in a driven and friendly environment.
The People Team advisors are a fundamental part of the smooth running of First Choice Homes Oldham. Working closely with and supporting the Business Partner responsible for the People Management of specific directorates, teams and employees.

A wide-ranging generalist role supporting the business with recruitment absence management, providing first line advice on disciplinary, performance management, grievances and capability matters.

In addition, there will a requirement to carryout administration of People processes, exposure to strategic projects and a whole host of other Human Resource Management opportunities.

You will be used to working independently or as part of a team, at pace and balancing priorities to meet deadlines.


Role responsibilities:


  • Provide a comprehensive advisory support service to managers and employees on all colleague queries, providing support and advice in line with company policies & best practice.
  • Provide proactive advisor support for sickness absence, grievance, disciplinary, capability cases, including note taking and producing various correspondence letters to bring matters to fruition in a timely manner.
  • Coordinating and scheduling individual case management referrals with Occupational Health so that employees can return to work effectively and appropriately.
  • Provide guidance and support to Line Managers to facilitate the endtoend process of the onboarding and job changes process ensuring all records are accurately recorded.
  • To work with the Payroll Specialist to ensure payroll changes are accurately completed and forwarded throughout the month/year to meet agreed deadlines.
  • Owning the complete maternity, paternity and parental leave processes providing advice and support to managers and colleagues.
  • Provide accurate data which can be interpreted to provide the organisation with key management information.
  • CIPD qualified, equivalent experience or studying towards
  • Operational advisory experience
  • Outstanding communication and customer service skills
  • Able to build relationships with managers and coach them through key processes
  • Close attention to detail with a focus on delivering quality results consistently, accurately and on time
  • Must be motivated, enthusiastic and show initiative, with an ability to work unsupervised
  • Experienced in the use of HR related systems, highly proficient in Microsoft Office products, in particular Word and Excel
  • Strong MI, presentation and reporting skills
