    Job overview

    The Rosa Burden Centre is a 12-bed inpatient neuropsychiatric unit. The ward offers a multidisciplinary inpatient program that combines the expertise of Neuropsychiatric and Neurology doctors, Registered Nurses (RGN), Mental Health Nurses (RMN), Learning Disability Nurses (RNLD), Health Care Assistants (HCA), Cognitive Behaviour Therapists (CBT), Occupational Therapists (OT), Physiotherapists (PT).

    Patients at the centre have diverse and complex conditions including epilepsy, non-epileptic attack disorder (NEAD), Functional Neurological Disorder (FND), mental health issues like anxiety, depression, panic attacks, PTSD, as well as sleep disorders and Parkinson's Disease.

    The centre also provides care for pre and post-op patients who may be admitted from home, as emergency cases from clinics, or transferred from other wards.

    We are currently seeking:

    • Experienced RMN/RNLD Nurses with current NMC Registration

    Please note that this role is for Maternity Leave Cover, starting on July 22nd, 2024, until March 31st, 2025.

    Main duties of the job

    As part of our team, your main responsibilities will include:

    • Organizing and participating in delivering high standards of evidence-based nursing care.
    • Providing direct patient care at a high standard without direct supervision, following established nursing procedures and policies.
    • Contributing to patients' health promotion through education, support, and advice, ensuring appropriate referrals when needed.
    • Delegating and overseeing work to other qualified staff, healthcare support workers, and students in the absence of senior personnel.
    • Coordinating discharge planning in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
    • Treating all patients with respect, courtesy, and maintaining confidentiality at all times.
    • Creating a safe and therapeutic environment for patients, families, visitors, and colleagues.
    • Participating in therapy sessions
