Position Summary

Following an upcoming resignation, an excellent opportunity has arisen for a Despatch Planner to join the Cased Goods Warehouse (CGW) team on a permanent basis.

Reporting to the CGW Team Leader, the Despatch Planner assists the team leaders to produce a loading plan for each day.

In this organising role the Despatch Planner endeavours to create and advise a despatch plan based on customer requirements. The focus is delivering the agreed despatch plan and organising the associated transport in the most efficient manner.
Job Description

Key duties and responsibilities of the role include:

Action the agreed daily despatch schedule to meet customer requirements
Liaise with the Team Leaders to ensure that the daily plan is understood/ to provide live stock updates
Liaise with Global Supply Chain personnel to ensure that the customer requirements are understood and met
Liaise with Global Supply Chain personnel to ensure that age certificates are available/ produced/ provided to the correct customers
Liaise with the Production planner to ensure that the despatch plan is updated on a regular basis
Liaise with external transport/ contractors/ storage to ensure that the correct transport is always available to ensure that the despatch plan is delivered
Liaise with the other despatch planners to ensure all the above are met
Liaise with the Compliance (C&E) personnel to ensure that all duty payments are recorded correctly
Provide the GWR Warehousing Manger with relevant statistical data indicating performance levels for each aspect of the despatch operation (e.g. despatch data, demurrage data, transport issues report).

Skills and Experience

To be considered for this role it is desirable that you have a good knowledge of HMRC regulations and consignor/channel tunnel/C-TPAT/AEO registration schemes, however this is not essential as full training will be provided.

You will be proficient in the use of SAP and Microsoft office packages and have strong organisation and attention to detail skills.
