About The Role:


12 Months Fixed Term Contract

As Training & Competency Co-ordinator you will proactively assist in the planning, management and organisation of the training requirements and competency of the present and future workforce across Strategic Infrastructure (SI) to ensure NGET successfully and efficiently deliver against our targets.


This role is based at our Warwick office which has free onsite parking, and we continue to offer hybrid working from office and home.

Leveraging this hybrid working, this team current work typically 1 day per week in the office, which is dependent on personal and business needs.

We are open to full time and part time applicants, as well as flexible working arrangements.

In this case, we're looking for someone who has:


  • Excellent organisation and administrative skills Understanding of the SI directorate, its activities and business issues.
  • Experience of managing stakeholders at all levels of the business
  • Proficiency in the use of office systems, including excellent MS Word, Excel & PowerPoint skills
  • Experience of use, and administration of Office 36
  • Strong attention to detail
  • The ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Initiative to identify issues and possible solutions
  • Foundation management reporting and presentation skills

What You'll Do:


You'll act as a central interface for Strategic Infrastructure to ensure all employee, trainee and agency resource training requirements are managed, scheduled, and planned in accordance with delivery plans and legislative requirements.

You'll assist with the gathering and validation of base data against each job role for Business Skills, Technical/Safety Skills, Leadership Skills and Specialist Skills.

You will support the ongoing planning organising, coordinating, and scheduling of all trainee intake's, all technical, safety, business, programmes and leadership training requirements with our internal Global Technical Training Centre of Excellence and external suppliers.

Creating and analysing training MI and reports, you'll ensure training records are aligned for the certificate of assurance.
Leading on the data capture and validation of information, you'll ensure SI have accurate
training records held on National Grid's preferred central systems.

You'll work with the Global Technical Training Team both onshore and offshore for all training requirements, scheduling courses and the provision of technical assistance.

You will ensure all new recruits, National Grid, and agency personnel are enrolled in mandatory training for their role.
You'll enjoy assisting with the support of shortlisting and assessment organisation for all training programmes (e.g., Construction Development, graduate, higher apprentices' etc.)


What You'll Get:

A competitive starting salary between £33,000 - £37,000 dependent on capability.


As well as your base salary, you will receive a bonus based on personal and company performance and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%.
