Monday to Friday
Outline:
_Control of the transport function during the night operation, interfacing and communicating between Castleford depot and all outlying depots to ensure timely transport operations.
_- Willing to take on board new commitments/responsibilities as and when required.
- Conducting additional ad hoc duties as required.
- Have good IT, administration and communication skills.
- Flexible attitude.
- Previous experience in a Transport role is essential.
- Self starter (ability to work unsupervised).
- Ability to prioritise and work under pressure.
- Excellent prioritisation skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Understand current Road Transport Legislation and digital tachographs.
- Holder of a Transport Management CPC would be desirable although not essential.
_Nightly Tasks:
_
- Complete a running log throughout shift.
- Ensure all transport tasks are carried out and completed in accordance with daily transport plan.
- Supervise the transport night operation.
- Conduct spot checks on departing vehicles from site. Ensure the inspection log is completed.
- Control trailer movements and log their destination / location.
- Communicate with depots and provide regular updates on progress / problems with trunking vehicles.
- Ensure vehicles / trailers are loaded to capacity prior to departure.
- Carryout vehicle downloads as required / identified by Transport Manager.
- Ensure all trunk vehicles depart on time.
- Monitor driver infringements
- Licence checks
_Measurement:
_
- Accurate completion of tasks.
- Monitored by Transport Manager and reports from other areas of the business.
- Audit of inspection log by Transport Manager.
- Trailer location accuracy and control.
- Depot feedback.
- Departure times.
- KPI reporting
_Generic Tasks:
_
- Brief / debrief drivers.
- Ensure all keys and fuel cards are accounted for.
- Ensure all drivers book in / out in the transport register.
- Conduct a damage inspection of all vehicles when returning for damage.
- Downloading tachographs and defect reporting.
- Ensure the returns procedure for return vans is adopted and followed correctly.
- Remain in contact with drivers throughout the shift.
- Complete missing mileage reports.
