The BIP (Business & Innovation Partnerships) High Growth SME cluster supports UCLs engagement with innovative SMEs through innovation programmes, including the Innovate UK Business Growth service, which you will deliver as part of a team of Innovation & Growth Specialists and support staff.


Innovate UK Business Growth is a key part of the UK innovation agency's deep investment in the pioneering businesses that drive economic growth.

It is a publicly-funded service available to all high potential small to medium sized innovation-driven companies, including Innovate UK grant winners.


About the role:

As an Innovation & Growth Specialist, you will deliver the Innovate UK Business Growth service to a portfolio of ambitious London-based high-growth SMEs.

These companies will be fast-growing innovation-led companies with potential to scale at a national and international level.


You will be working closely with your portfolio companies to provide them with tailored wraparound support to hone commercial strategy and culture.

This will include working with high-growth companies on access to strategic funding & finance, on innovation management and on internationalisation.

The salary for this role is £51,474 - £60,521 per annum (pro-rata for part-time hours).


About you:

The jobholder will be of exceptional high calibre, with experience of supporting and advising SMEs at various stages of the business life cycle, and experience working in or with emerging technologies across sectors.


We are looking for someone with wide-ranging experience in the commercialisation of ideas (including intellectual property), access to funding (including investment readiness), innovation management and internationalisation.


You will need to have experience and expertise in supporting R&D partnerships and collaborations as well as a good understanding of the business and innovation support landscape for SMEs.

We are operating hybrid working and you will have the opportunity to work remotely for up to 3 days a week if you wish.
