    Description
    Element has an opportunity for a new Financial Accounting Manager to join our growing team. This is a great opportunity to develop your Finance career within a Global testing, inspection and certification TIC business.

  • Responsible for preparation of monthly consolidated balance sheet and cash flow
  • Reviewing Cognos submissions from subsidiaries
  • Ensuring controls to support all of the above are developed, documented and operated, including preparation and approval of IFRS consolidation entries
  • Responsible for technical accounting including acquisition accounting, impairment models for goodwill and IFRS 2 share-based payment model
  • Ensure proper documentation (Memos) is available to support significant accounting treatments
  • Co-ordinate and manage quarterly balance sheet reviews
  • Liaising with overseas teams to complete local statutory accounts on time
  • Review of statutory accounts and liaising with EY / Shared service centre to complete within group reporting timetable
  • Lead covenant reporting
  • Responsibility for preparation of the half year and full year statutory financial statements
  • Responsibility for preparation of supplementary disclosure spreadsheet sent out to operating companies for completion at half and full year end and reviewing completed returns
  • Preparation of any other ad-hoc schedules
  • Co-ordinate external audit timetable - interim reviews and annual audit
  • Other ad-hoc schedules and projects
  • A Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA)
  • Experience within large Group IFRS consolidation
  • Proven track record of strong technical accounting skills
  • Extensive knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP
  • Strong planning and organisational skills to ensure group deadlines are met
  • A keen eye for detail
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and be adept at interacting with individuals at all levels in the organisation
  • Drive and motivation to ensure self and team succeeds in achieving fixed and demanding deadlines
  • Displays a 'can-do' mentality which is focussed on targets and deadlines
  • Persists in overcoming obstacles
  • A self-starter; does not wait for others to solve problems
  • Ability to prioritise workloads and work within a fast paced, changing environment
