Your Place has one simple mission - to solve homelessness one person at a time. We are a small but high achieving charity that is making life-changing differences to single adults who have experienced homelessness.


This important role will help to raise the profile of our East London homelessness charity and champion the voices of those we are here to help.

Based in the Fundraising and Communications Team, this role will collaborate on, develop and execute marketing and communications plans aligned with Your Place's long-term goals and objectives.


About the role

You will play a key role in ensuring our marketing and communication is informative and inspiring for a range of stakeholders, and be central to embedding and championing a storytelling culture across the organisation.

You will create digital, editorial and creative content across the charity's work to drive engagement and build our supporter base.


You will have experience of working in a marketing and/or communications role in the charity/public/health or social care sectors, including social media management and content creation, both written and visual, such as designing and creating blogs, press releases, case studies, photographs, videos, info graphics and other collateral.


Salary:
£31,000 - £37,000 per annum


Contract:
Permanent


Hours:
Full-time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday from 9am - 5pm. We are open to part-time or flexible working requests.

Location:
Hybrid (primarily remote working with regular office visits required for purposes such as key meetings, in-person training and events)


Other responsibilities include

  • Develop and deliver against content planner for the charity's communication channels, identifying stories, and producing and publishing content to raise awareness and encourage support.
  • Champion the voices of those accessing our services, supporting them to convey their experiences and views.
  • Proactively develop our website to provide accurate, informative and engaging content whilst monitoring and improving the user experience and accessibility.
  • Develop social media communications, to drive and respond to public engagement.
  • Write enewsletters to engage and retain the interest of our supporters.
  • Craft engaging press releases and proposals to secure local and regional print, television and radio.
  • Action media inquiries, providing access to stories, spokespeople and images at short notice.
  • Champion our brand and work with colleagues to ensure our guidelines are adhered to.
  • Monitor, evaluate and report on effectiveness of marketing and communication activity.

About you

  • Relevant experience in marketing/communications and a track record of success in charity, public sector, or health and social care setting
  • Experience creating engaging content, designed to raise awareness and inspire action
  • Experience managing social media platforms for business use
  • Experience using content management systems (such as Word Press), and website analytic tools (such as Google Analytics)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proactive and highly organised with excellent project management skills, the ability to manage competing priorities, whilst paying close attention to detail
  • Ability to grasp complex information, interpret and communicate key issues
  • Values inclusion, perspectives and culture and works effectively with a diverse community of employees, service users, volunteers and supporters
