Description
The Eight Group are recruiting a Temporary HR Officer for an FE College in Preston. This is a full time Monday to Friday role.


Main Duties and Responsibilities:


  • To act as a key point of contact for all HR related queries, providing support and advice to staff, referring to the HR Manager where appropriate.
  • To ensure the accurate and timely delivery of administrative services such as formal correspondence to employees relating to terms and conditions of employment and policies/procedures (letter of appointment, employment contracts, leaver documentation, changes to terms and conditions etc.).
  • To implement safer recruitment procedures in respect of recruitment/selection of staff and volunteers including assisting in carrying out preemployment checks.
  • Develop and administer the college's staff perks and benefits package.
  • To play an active role in the monitoring, reporting and analysis of key data including but not limited to, induction feedback, staff turnover, gender pay gap data, equality data, salary benchmarking etc. as requested by relevant managers and SLT, providing advice and commentary where appropriate.
  • To play a key role in absence management including monthly reporting, monitoring absence levels and
provision of advice, provision of support to staff (including occupational health referrals) and supporting

in absence management meetings.

  • To carry out exit interviews with college leavers and support the evaluation of leavers data.
  • Administer maternity and paternity leave.
  • Support in the reviewing of job descriptions and person specifications, providing advice and guidance to manager.
  • To assist in adhoc HR projects, driving the continuous improvement of the department.
  • To provide HR support and guidance to The Lancaster University School of Mathematics.
  • To support in the college's staff engagement and wellbeing strategy.
  • To assist with casework where necessary.
  • To assist in the organisation of staff events.
  • To support in the organisation and administration of staff development.
  • To keep abreast of legislative changes and external factors that may impact the HR function.
  • To liaise with all relevant external agencies to support the HR function.
  • To work collaboratively with other departments and functions across college.
  • To undertake any other duties commensurate with the role.

Job Types:
Full-time, Temporary contract


Salary:
£25,687.00-£27,189.00 per year
