Job description


Do you have a flair for creating clear, concise web content that's easy to find when it's needed? Are you passionate about analytics and using data to improve people's online experience? If so, you could be the person we're looking for to drive continuous improvement in our website and help people access our vital public services.

Our inspiring, results-driven and creative Communications team is looking for an enthusiastic individual to join them.

You will be responsible for the Council's website and intranet making sure user experience and accessibility are at the heart of everything we do.

You will produce original web and intranet content, champion the website accessibility guidelines to ensure everyone can access our services and oversee our devolved content management model.


You will also be required to play a leading role in the strategic planning for continued development and improvement of the website and intranet, maintain the Content Management System and support the creation of online digital processes that integrate with our CRM system.

Please note that this role is hybrid and allows for home working, as well as from our main office
- the Town Hall.


About the Person:


  • You will have experience of web publishing and editing across multiple systems within a large and/or complex web service.
  • You will also have experience of administrating a Content Management System (preferably Jadu) and liaising with external suppliers.
  • You will have a strong understanding of website regulations, including accessibility and GDPR.
  • You will have proven experience of using website analytics (ideally Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager) to monitor and improve performance.
  • You will also have good experience or training in using Adobe Acrobat Pro to create and check accessible PDF content

Qualifications:


  • A level standard education or equivalent

  • A recognised technical qualification in web editing and/or web design
