Hunting is looking for a
Production Machinist to join the team at our facility in Portlethen, Aberdeen.

The job holder will be responsible for responsible for the manufacture of components as per the engineering drawings and specifications ensuring information is checked against route cards, and programming, setting, operating and proving component manufacture on various Lathes, Machining Centres and multitasking CNC/Manual machines.

Key Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

Programming, setting and operating CNC Machine Tools to the required standard in accordance with engineering drawings and specifications
Working with a range of materials including carbon steel, various stainless steels and some exotic steel. Interpreting engineering drawings and working with imperial and metric measures to ensure dimensional accuracy
Using a range of measuring equipment together with working knowledge of inspection procedures to undertake selfinspection
Checking all relevant information on Route Cards to ensure correct drawings, material have been issued prior to manufacture of components
Reporting any nonconforming components to the Lead hand/ Machineshop Supervisor and the QA Department
Ensuring that all traceability is maintained at all times and all processes are carried out in accordance with the Company procedures

Applicants will have the ability to work under pressure with time constraints and have excellent problem-solving skills.

They must have a flexible approach to work activities including working various machines within capability and be fully skilled CNC Turner and/or Miller, from operator to programming.
