Description

To support the delivery of a high quality, accommodation-based harm reduction service for people with a range of alcohol, drug, mental and physical health problems, supervising residents' conduct, health, hygiene, safety and welfare during the night-time.

To ensure all residents are given the security and support to minimise harm and risk, address individual need and take control of their own lives.

Experience working with people with complex needs including homelessness, history of offending, alcohol, drug and mental and physical health problems
A working knowledge of Health and Safety issues within an accommodationbased setting
A clear understanding of dealing with residents who have complex and challenging behaviour
An understanding of the principles, philosophy and practices of harm reduction strategies and engaging with harder to reach people
Good working knowledge of local housing, medical and support services, drug and alcohol treatment agencies
Experience of needs and risk assessments and care planning of individuals with substance misuse issues
Experience of developing and discharging individualised support plans
Experience of advocating on behalf of people with multiple and complex needs
Knowledge and experience of safeguarding in relation to vulnerable adults
Knowledge of the principles of antioppressive practice and equal opportunities
Experience of encouraging resident involvement and participation in the delivery of services
Experience of dealing with telephone enquiries
