Description
Supported Lodgings Service, St Helens

Steps Supported Lodgings Service supports young care leavers and children looked after by the local authority aged years old, by providing placements within family homes and support being provided by the host (householder) and the project worker.

For some young people, a hostel environment or having their own flat is something that may not meet their needs and they would like the nurturing environment that living with a placement host would provide.

Many young people who have been supported in Steps, have successfully moved into their own accommodation and express how the support provided by the host has been a real lifeline for them and helped them to achieve their dreams of becoming independent.

SUPPORTED LODGINGS PROJECT WORKER
Salary £21,100 - £22,202 (FTE) (depending on experience)

Hours: 36 hours per week

St Helens, Merseyside

The role of Supported Lodgings Project Worker is a front-line service role working to support the placement hosts and the young people accommodated within the scheme.

Providing support and guidance to both parties and monitoring the quality of the accommodation, support being provided and assisting the hosts with helping the young person to enhance their practical living skills.

The project worker supports the young person, identifying with them the areas for support which either the host, the young person themselves or the project worker will help them with achieving their aspirations.

We need an enthusiastic worker who can help to expand the service so that we can meet the growing demand for these placements, which make such a valuable difference in the lives of the young people we work with.
