Dover Lifeguard Swimming Club (DLSC) is seeking a highly qualified, friendly and ambitious Head Coach to share and build on our vision of creating a regional centre of excellence and performance in Kent.
DLSC is an ambitious and friendly swimming club that has been promoting swimming since 1886.We pride ourselves in providing opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to achieve their goals in the sport of swimming, whilst aspiring to be an elite club focused on the effective development of talent, competing at the highest levels, regionally, and nationally.
They must impart the club's ethos and drive its success, provide skilled and confident leadership to swimmers, fellow coaches and club volunteers so that everyone allied to the club may enjoy swimming and achieve their full potential.
The Head Coach supported by an enthusiastic and highly capable team, will report to the DLSC Executive Committee and will develop an Annual Training Plan for the Competitive Squads within Swim England's Long-Term Athlete Development (LTAD) program and Optimal Athlete Development Framework (OADF)Swim England Senior Swimming Coach Certificate/ASA Level 3 Coaching Swimming Award or Swimming Coach Certificate/Level 2 Award and evidence of a plan to achieve the Senior Swimming Coach Certificate
Hold or be prepared to gain a current land-based training qualification appropriate to swimming
A full driving licence or ability to reach any required locations
In-depth knowledge of elite coaching to a range of swimming capabilities including para swimming and open water.
Develop Annual Training Plans for the Competitive squads within LTAD and OADF in consultation with the Lead Coaches
Ability to forge relationships with neighbouring clubs, stakeholders and facility providers.
A high level of technical knowledge and experience in leading and motivating swimming squads of all levels
Support DLSC swimmers as part of the County, Regional and National Performance Programmes
Ability to develop swimmer's technique, motivate and encourage competitive swimming, ultimately to performance standard
Coaching hours are determined by the swimming program and will involve early mornings, evenings and weekends, approximately 40 hours per week with 50% poolside and 50% administration and planning.
