The Role
Due to the surplus of work our client has plans to grow the Manchester office.

As a result, they are looking to recruit an engineer for a senior or technical consultant position, with specialist experience in power system dynamic studies.


Responsibilities include:

  • Delivering specialist technical services to clients in the electricity sector.
  • Carry out power systems studies and analysis for a wide range of energy projects covering onshore and offshore renewable energy.
  • Support business development.
  • Expand the company's services within the UK and internationally in relation to specialist skills.

Essential Requirements:

  • A motivated, selfdriven individual with experience in power systems studies, and existing knowledge of technical connection/compliance requirements.
  • Strong experience in the delivery of detailed power systems studies, specifically dynamic studies and dynamic model development in software packages such as PowerFactory, PSS/E, or IPSA.
  • Excellent problemsolving skills and time management.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.

Desirable:

  • Postgraduate degree in engineering.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good knowledge of the continuous changes in codes and standards such as Grid Code, G99, P28, G5/
  • Previous experience in dynamic studies and/or offshore renewables.
  • Bespoke dynamic model development in PowerFactory and PSS/E for inverterconnected generation as well as conventional AVR and governor modelling.
  • Capability in Python, or another similar modelling language.
  • Commercial awareness.
