Key Responsibilities:

  • Planning and delivering engaging and effective science lessons to students in an Alternative Provision setting.
  • Assessing and monitoring student progress, providing regular feedback to students and parents.
  • Creating a safe and supportive learning environment for students.
  • Collaborating with other teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure the best outcomes for students.
  • Supporting students with challenging behaviour, and helping to improve their emotional and social well being.
  • Developing and delivering differentiated lesson plans that meet the needs of all students.
  • Participating in professional development opportunities and staying current with the latest teaching methods and curriculum.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A degree in science or a related field.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience teaching Science in a secondary school setting.
  • Experience working with students in an Alternative Provision setting is highly desirable.
  • Strong classroom management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to inclusive education and the ability to support students with special educational needs.
