What we're looking for


We are seeking an individual who can serve as LR's authoritative spokesperson, offering advanced expertise to both internal and external stakeholders regarding current and upcoming marine fuels, lubricants, exhaust emissions, and their safe utilization aboard ships.

This entails ensuring compliance with regulatory obligations related to ship fuel and exhaust emissions.

The position entails overseeing or assisting with projects that offer commercially-driven support and service delivery within Lloyd's Register's advisory domain, aiming to leverage expertise to drive revenue and profitability.

The role

  • Provide support to all departments as needed for client presentations on topics related to FOBAS areas, including visiting existing and potential clients to assist with technical aspects.
  • Work towards producing monthly technical updates and bulletins for clients.
  • Offer specialized support and advice to internal and external clients within a specific discipline or area.
  • Participate as a contributing member of relevant standardization and technical bodies such as ISO and CIMAC, representing LR FOBAS's respected position in the marine industry.
  • Ensure consistency in technical matters by aligning technical service delivery and project technical support roles, ensuring uniformity in responses and statements across all FOBAS departments. Additionally, strive to establish a standardized presentation library of materials for consistent messaging to clients and potential new clients across departments.
  • Monitor industry developments and competitor activities within a specific discipline, actively recommending areas for future investigation and development to enhance Lloyd's Register's competitive positioning.
  • Execute and support projects aimed at enhancing commercial service delivery opportunities within the designated area to contribute to improving Lloyd's Register's competitive position and developing key selling point capabilities.
  • Manage projects within the designated discipline or area, ensuring compliance with quality system requirements, cost structures, and budgetary/contractual obligations.
  • Pursue Continuous Professional Development to maintain a high level of discipline knowledge and stay abreast of rapid changes impacting the marine fuel bunker pool due to environmental regulatory shifts, ensuring consistency within the specialist area.

What you bring

  • Alternatively, qualifications from a marine or nautical institution along with relevant seagoing experience as a certificated ship's officer.
  • Membership in an appropriate professional institution.
  • Working towards or having achieved chartered or incorporated engineering status.
  • Proficiency in the English language commensurate with the responsibilities of the role.
  • Demonstrable comprehension of the Project Management process, acquired through both experience and training.
  • Previous involvement in budget monitoring.
