Job Summary

PSPS are looking for an Apprentice to join our Employee Relations team in the Human Resources Department. This role will suit an individual who is interested in developing a career within HR and specialism Employee Relations.

The HR Apprentice is expected to build, over time, recognised expertise in a key area of HR to build their Employee Relations knowledge.

Opportunities to oversee all HR functions will be provided.

Throughout your 18 months Level 3 HR Support Apprenticeship you will receive ongoing support and time to complete the apprenticeship programme.

You'll spend a minimum of 6 hours a week (of your total working hours) in a number of different Training, Learning & Development Activities that all develop your Knowledge, Skills & Behaviours in line with your Apprenticeship Qualification.

The successful Apprentice will gain the Level 3 HR Support and CIPD Foundation Certificate in People Practice.


Qualifications Required:


  • GCSE or equivalent English (Grade 4) essential
  • GCSE or equivalent Maths (Grade 4) essential

There is a requirement to travel between our 3 main sites, and sub sites so you must hold a valid full UK Driving License.

Main Duties:


  • Work in close collaboration with People Managers across the company and its Client Councils to support on employee relations matters including Grievance, Disciplinary and Capability procedures
  • Undertake Employee Relations administrative activities including ensuring all employee correspondence and meeting records are accurate and delivered in a timely manner.
  • To be a point of contact for HR Employee Relations queries for the company and its Client Councils, ensuring the advice is accurate and in line with policy and legislation
  • Proactively monitor Employee Relations cases, through collaborative working with People Managers and the ER Advisors to ensure cases are prioritised and support is provided to People Managers as soon as possible.
  • Support the Occupational Health processes, submitting referrals and filing of Occupational Health reports and advising the HR Advisor and People Manager as appropriate when referrals are made, and reports received
