- Dealing with telephone enquiries promptly from patients/general public and other health professionals.
- Making/cancelling appointments.
- Accepting, issuing and handing out prescriptions, letters, completed forms, specimen bottles, etc.
- Dealing with requests for information, and managing problems and complaints.
- Advising patients of practice procedures.
- Processing tasks, emails and online consultations.
- Booking appointments and home visits.
- Ensuring reception emails are responded to quickly and efficiently.
- Undertaking a variety of administration duties to assist the smooth running of the organisation.

- Ideally previous medical / healthcare receptionist experience although training will be given.
- You will have excellent communication skills with a clear and polite telephone manner.

- You will have experience of working with the general public, being sensitive and empathic in distressing situations.
- You will be confident to work as part of a team and be able to think on your feet independently.
- Strong IT and administration skills.
- Flexibility is essential as you will sometimes need to work additional/alternative hours to cover for colleagues.

Cuffley and Goffs Oak Medical Practice is looking for a receptionist to join their busy practice team and help make a positive impact on the local community. This role is to work between 25-30 hours per week, between the hours of and , Monday to Friday. Actual hours to be decided based on our rota needs, but it will be a combination of full and half days (mornings or afternoons).
We welcome applications from organised, adaptable, and friendly individuals who are keen to help us provide high levels of customer service. Flexibility is essential as you will be required to work different or additional hours to cover for colleagues. You will be expected to work at both sites - Valley View Health Centre and Cuffley Village Surgery.

About us
We are a large, friendly practice serving a patient population of approximately 13,000. We are based over two sites - Cuffley Village Surgery and Valley View Health Centre. We have a very supportive team comprising of GPs, nurses, paramedics, HCAs and administrative staff.
