Job description:


The Vehicle Certification Agency (VCA) is the UK Type Approval Authority and ensures that road vehicles meet the minimum safety and environmental standards as required by GB, UK, and UNECE regulations.

The integrity, objectivity, impartiality, and professionalism of our staff is vital to delivering this service for the automotive sector.


These Administrative Officer roles could be based in any of our departments in VCA in either our Bristol or Nuneaton offices.

You will be an important part of VCA, working across departments to support our activities and deliver our services to the automotive industry.

This post will be an exciting and dynamic role, encompassing a variety of administrative support working, engaging with colleagues in the UK and overseas.

This is an ideal opportunity for a highly organised individual, who thrives on responsibility and networking with multiple departments within a busy environment.


Responsibilities

Key accountabilities of the role include:

  • Checking of manufacturer's documentation to facilitate the issue of high-quality documentation correctly first time. This will involve referencing and validating against multiple data/information sources.
  • Keeping all VCA stakeholders informed on the progress and extent of current workload to facilitate efficient decision making, planning and delivery of work areas.
  • Drafting and issuing certificates in line with procedures with attention to detail, ensuring a highquality product.

Please note that at least 1 of these posts is part time, consisting of 21 hours a week.


Person specification:


You will be an excellent communicator, both written and verbally and have excellent attention to detail when checking documentation and accuracy in data entry.

You can remain calm and professional within a highly pressurised environment and be flexible in your work approach. You will need to be able to prioritise certain tasks when customer and VCA priorities shift at short notice.

You will be a natural team player with a strong work ethic. You will use your excellent interpersonal skills to build strong working relationships in a customer focused environment.


You will have good IT skills, and be comfortable using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams, and Adobe Acrobat to complete tasks.
