Our client is a housebuilding company and they currently have over 200 sites in England. With fantastic experience and reputation, they really care about their customers and their staff.


The Role:

On their behalf, we are assisting their search for a PR and Social Media Officer.

In this role you will be responsible for supporting the Corporate Communications Manager in creating and delivering clear, impactful communication to external audiences in order to promote the group as a housebuilder, employer and partner of choice while supporting the management of their reputation and their brands.


Responsibilities will include:

  • Working with the Corporate Communications Manager to deliver the corporate communications plan
  • Manage the Press Office inbox in a positive and timely manner, liaising with the appropriate individuals within the company
  • Proactively contact teams and individuals in the business and take a journalistic approach to sourcing and disseminating good news stories
  • Support the Communications Manager in collaborating with various functions within the business including Finance, Marketing, People and operational teams,
  • Support the Communications Manager in helping to manage interactions and communications with existing and potential stakeholders. To be responsive to information needs in compliance with company policies
  • Support for other PR activities in the department where required, including writing copy for corporate campaigns and press releases, organise photography and video, target channels and distribute materials in support of the campaigns
  • Assist in the promotion of strategic communications directed at key stakeholders related to corporate milestones, quarterly financial results, annual report and other disclosures, including press releases, conference call scripts, slides and Q&A's
  • Help to manage the corporate website, ensuring all content is aligned in supporting the communication strategy
  • Working with public relations firms to ensure appropriate levels of service are consistently provided
  • Help to manage third party Communication / PR vendors and resources
  • Help to ensure all emerging technologies and requirements are understood to provide expert thought leadership in corporate communications techniques and technologies
  • Support in delivery of monthly reports
  • Daily maintenance of all social media presence, including LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest and TikTok accounts
  • Working with local sales teams, regions and Group PR to create content for social media channels in line with the social media strategy
  • Monitoring these accounts as appropriate, including out of hours where necessary
  • Handling incoming queries and complaints in line with the strategy with a view to effective reputational management, liaising with relevant regional departments especially customer care to escalate as required
  • Working with influencers, running competitions to increase engagement and followers in line with annual targets
  • Identify opportunities for development and improvement of social media approach and benchmark against competitor activity, including keeping up to date with emerging social media platforms and latest trends
  • Producing monthly report with summary and analysis of social media activity
  • Producing monthly social listening reports for relevant internal departments

The Person:

For this role our client is looking for someone who has:

  • Experience of working closely with a 3rd party supplier
  • Experience of working in multichannel communications environment
  • Able to meet deadlines
  • Excellent written skills and superb attention to detail
  • Organisational skills and ability to plan effectively
  • Personable, approachable and helpful
  • Willing to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Creative mindset
  • Ideal but not essential Degree in PR or Marketing or equivalent
  • Ideally CIPD membership but not essential

The Location:

Cheltenham (hybrid working available)


The Salary:

Up to £30,000


The Hours:

37.5hr week Monday - Friday
