Are you looking to use your transport experience in a new role? Do you like the sound of working on a large, complex operation with one of the biggest names in logistics? Are you ready for a challenge?


Here at XPO, we're looking for a full-time, permanent Transport Shift Operator to join us on our AM shift for our ETEX contract based in Portbury, Bristol.

Core hours are but you'll need flexibility to cover other shifts. You'll be responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient and effective running of our transport function.


Pay, benefits and more:

We're looking to offer a salary of up to £26,000 per annum. In addition, we offer 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays), as well as the option to buy additional days.

What you'll do on a typical day:

  • Booking in and dispatching a team of 40+ own drivers, 6 shunters and 6 Warehouse Operatives
  • Booking subcontract vehicles and drivers into site working in a small but busy transport gatehouse
  • Ensuring the timely loading of vehicles on site
  • Dispatching Drivers
  • Communicating issues to the customer
  • Support the Shift Management team with customer ETA's, haulier, and supplier communication
  • Process Debrief Paperwork and file accurately and securely
  • Providing Proof of Delivery to the customer
  • Liaising with external hauliers
  • Assist with operational planning
  • Assist with maintenance planning
  • KPI reporting
