Description

We are currently recruiting for a Trainee Designer who will be responsible for preparing design layouts & details as well as procurement schedules.

Based in Glasgow.


Responsibilities:


  • Attend project reviews and handover when new business is secured
  • Quantifying & producing detailed take offs for projects
  • Visiting site & attending meetings
  • Prepare design layouts & details in AutoCAD
  • Liaise & communicate with APS project team, suppliers and clients project design team
  • Prepare procurement schedules
  • Monthly stock checks
  • General administration and database usage

Who we?re looking for:


  • High level of computer literacy with good working knowledge of a variety of computer packagesincluding AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Organisational & communication skills coupled with good time management and a sense of
- urgency

  • A confident and professional telephone manner
  • Attention to detail is essential
  • Previous building design experience (Advantageous)
  • Selfmotivated, methodical approach with focus on customer service
  • A flexible approach to work and able to adapt to change
  • A teamfocus with the ability to communicate and build relationships with a wide variety of people at all levels
  • A driven, selfmotivated attitude, with the able to work on your own initiative
  • Eligibility to work and live permanently in the UK
  • Full UK driving License

The following qualities/experience are desirable:


  • Experience of construction/engineering industry
  • Experienced in AutoCAD
  • Excellent Verbal and Written Communication Skills
  • Problem Solving & Strong Math Skills
