Canteen Cook

Job Overview
Norbrook are now recruiting for a Canteen Cook to join our established Canteen team in

Newry. Working as part of a small team you will help to produce and serve hot and cold food

for employees, serve customers, and operate the till all whilst ensuring a high standard of

cleanliness is always maintained.


Main Activities/Tasks

  • Preparation of breakfast and lunch service for Norbrook employees
  • Serve food to customers and handle cash transactions
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen and canteen area
  • Taking receipt of deliveries and checking for accuracy
  • Stock inventory and replenishing supplies as needed
  • Stock rotation and proper storage of all food and drinks
  • Monitor fridge temperatures and take the necessary action following any abnormal
readings

  • Completing the HACCP file daily and following COSHH procedures
  • Assist at private functions as and when required
  • Provide excellent customer service and address customer inquiries or concerns

Essential Criteria:


form in order to be considered:

  • Educated to NVQ level 2 in a relevant qualification
  • At least 2 years' experience within a similar role; e.g. a school, college or work canteen
  • Good organisational skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Strong customer service skills

Desirable Criteria:

Due to the nature of the role preference will be given to applicants demonstrating the


following desirable criteria:

  • Basic Food Hygiene Certificate preferred but not essential
