Stockton-on-Tees

£24-26k DOE


Jackson Hogg Procurement division are delighted to be partnering with a specialist manufacturing organisation in Stockton-on-Tees on the appointment of a Purchasing Administrator to join their procurement team on a full-time and permanent basis.

The working hours are Monday to Friday 08:00-16:30 with 24 days holiday plus bank holidays.


As Purchasing Administrator, it would be your duty to monitor the company's inventory of supplies, gather and analyse purchase requests, process purchase orders, and resolving issues should there be any.

They would also negotiate with vendors and suppliers, building positive relationships with them and internal stakeholders.


The Role:


  • Be responsible for the administration needs of the procurement team.
  • Assist in sourcing inventory to quality and industry approved standards.
  • Assist in negotiations with suppliers to obtain best price, terms and conditions.
  • Creating and managing purchase requisitions and purchase orders for consumables and expendables.
  • Manage daily exceptions from the ERP system, SAP.
  • Expedite open orders to achieve delivery requirements.
  • Ensure the purchase ordering system is maintained and kept up to date.
  • Resolve material queries with regards to inventory accuracy.
  • Administer the departmental process for new and existing approved suppliers.
  • Produce data reports, help to monitor departmental KPI's.

Person Specification:


  • Previous experience in a purchasing or supply chain function
  • Strong IT skills.
  • Knowledge of MRP systems.
  • Excellent communicator at all levels, good at relationship building.
  • Capability to use initiative, natural ability to recognize and respond to problems.
  • Numerate, accurate with ability to meet deadlines and targets.
  • Performance driven with a desire to succeed.
  • Working knowledge of SAP, Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills.
