Jackson Hogg Procurement & Supply Chain division are partnering with a leading life sciences organisation on the appointment of a temporary Indirect Buyer to join their team in Newcastle, initially on a 6 month temp basis.


This role can offer hybrid working with 3 days in the office and the option to work from home up to 2 days per week after an initial training period.

The working hours can be flexible but typically around 08:00-16:00 or 09:00-17:00 Monday to Friday. Salary is negotiable depending on experience, and pay will be weekly.


The Role:


  • Work with associates and cost center owners within EMEA to identify savings opportunities and build a sustainable project savings funnel
  • Negotiate with suppliers to implement pricing agreements and ensure Terms and Conditions are optimized and key areas such as GDPR are covered
  • Focus on key and strategic suppliers to improve supplier performance, reduce cost and receive consistent quality products and/or services.
  • Develop supplier agreements to meet short, mid, and long
- term needs of the business. Agreements must deliver the lowest total cost for materials and services while allowing flexibility to adapt to the changing organizational requirements.

  • Monitor compliance to procurement policies through iBUY and indirect spend reporting and ensure contracts and agreements for EMEA are uploaded to the iContract tool to allow annual management of contracts. Lead through monthly tracking and enforce countermeasures if not on track.
  • Create Standard Work (SW) documentation for the team and facilitate onboarding/ training sessions on Indirect Procurement processes and tools
  • Identify and develop concepts for process optimization and standardization within EMEA Indirect Procurement team

The Person / Specification:


  • At least three years of experience in Procurement
  • Indirect procurement experience would be advantageous but not essential
  • Excellent skills in Excel, Analysis for Office, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Experience working with SAP
  • Excellent people skills and strong at building and maintaining relationships
  • Available to start a role in June 2023

Salary:
£35,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
