Jackson Hogg Supply Chain division are partnering with an automotive manufacturing organisation in Sunderland on the appointment of a Purchasing Administrator to join their busy Purchasing team.
The role is full time and permanent and can offer up to £27,000 per annum DOE. The role will be based on site but with fantastic career and development opportunities. CIPS is on offer as part of the package after an initial 12 month period with the business.
We are looking for someone hungry and ambitious for a career in purchasing with strong written, verbal and numerical skills.
The Role:
- Purchase goods, materials and services to ensure that the company operational needs are met, taking into account price, quality and delivery ensuring continuity of supply
- Develop and improve supplier relationships and performance
- Control of direct budget, monitor spend and highlight variances
- Deliver cost down initiatives in support of company cost reduction activity
- Generate and manage Requests for Quotation and tender analysis
- Perform data analysis and issue reports on supplier performance ensuring achievement of KPI's
- Provide monthly specific activity reports to your direct line supervisor
- Develop and lead the introduction of creative and innovative procurement processes
- Performance and work towards a strategy of continuous improvement
- Ability to proactively engage, communicate with and influence internal (at all levels within the organization) stakeholders
- Ability to work effectively and productively in a matrix organization with mínimal supervision
The Person/Specification:
- Ability to add value, reduce costs and make continuous improvements (CI)
- Ability to work safely, efficiently and accurately, prioritise workload and be selfmotivated
- Computer literate, with advanced Excel skills is a key nonnegotiable
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Purchasing experience or relevant degree would be preferred
- Proven negotiation skills and CIPS desirable but not essential
