Description
Our client is looking for a skilled CNC Programmer, setter and operator working on either / both


Sliding Heads:


Detailed Daily Tasks

  • Read drawings and job travelers to determine machining to be done, dimensional specifications, set up and operating requirements.
  • Locate and download programs from our server storage.
  • Identify, select, and install correct tooling for operations being performed.
  • Calculate proper feeds and speeds for a variety of stainlesssteel grades and exotic materials.
  • Read, understand and where necessary edit CNC programs, on Fanuc and Mitsubishi controls system.
  • Understand applicable quality systems and perform necessary quality inspections.
  • Visually inspects final components.
  • Uses precision measuring instruments and gauging devices.
  • Properly identify components after assembly/manufacture.
  • Seek out and identify Continuous Improvement opportunities.
  • Create and maintain a team focused work environment.
  • Responsible for general housekeeping and cleanliness of working area.
  • Support "Best Practices" to achieve company goals for safety, delivery, cost and quality.

Skills and Experience

  • Requires indepth knowledge of manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to read complex engineering drawings.

Be time served in a machining discipline.

  • Have a relevant Health and Safety awareness.

Previous experience in a similar industry is preferable (specialist fasteners/exotic materials).

Experience working with various machine control systems, including Fanuc and Mitsubishi.

  • Must be selfmotivated and possess facilitation skills to be used in a team setting.
  • Prior experience with precision inspection equipment including, but not limited to, micrometers, calipers, thread gauges, height gauges and bore gauges.

Proven ability to hold tight machining tolerances

Qualifications:


  • GCSE's (or equivalent)
  • Apprentice trained (desirable)
  • HNC in Engineering (desirable)

Pay (same rate for both sliding heads and fixed heads

  • Programmer, setter and operator £18 p/h + 15% shift allowance (Hourly rate can be negotiated depending on experience)
