Description
Our client is looking for a skilled CNC Programmer, setter and operator working on either / bothSliding Heads:
Detailed Daily Tasks
- Read drawings and job travelers to determine machining to be done, dimensional specifications, set up and operating requirements.
- Locate and download programs from our server storage.
- Identify, select, and install correct tooling for operations being performed.
- Calculate proper feeds and speeds for a variety of stainlesssteel grades and exotic materials.
- Read, understand and where necessary edit CNC programs, on Fanuc and Mitsubishi controls system.
- Understand applicable quality systems and perform necessary quality inspections.
- Visually inspects final components.
- Uses precision measuring instruments and gauging devices.
- Properly identify components after assembly/manufacture.
- Seek out and identify Continuous Improvement opportunities.
- Create and maintain a team focused work environment.
- Responsible for general housekeeping and cleanliness of working area.
- Support "Best Practices" to achieve company goals for safety, delivery, cost and quality.
Skills and Experience
- Requires indepth knowledge of manufacturing processes.
- Ability to read complex engineering drawings.
Be time served in a machining discipline.
- Have a relevant Health and Safety awareness.
Previous experience in a similar industry is preferable (specialist fasteners/exotic materials).

Experience working with various machine control systems, including Fanuc and Mitsubishi.
- Must be selfmotivated and possess facilitation skills to be used in a team setting.
- Prior experience with precision inspection equipment including, but not limited to, micrometers, calipers, thread gauges, height gauges and bore gauges.
Proven ability to hold tight machining tolerances

Qualifications:
- GCSE's (or equivalent)
- Apprentice trained (desirable)
- HNC in Engineering (desirable)

Pay (same rate for both sliding heads and fixed heads
- Programmer, setter and operator £18 p/h + 15% shift allowance (Hourly rate can be negotiated depending on experience)
