Are you an experienced registered mental health professional looking for interesting and rewarding work in the higher education sector?

Student Services are recruiting a Principal Specialist Mentor (Mental Health) to provide individualised support to students with mental health problems. Specialist mentors provide longer-term interventions, either in person or online, with the overall aim of helping students to successfully complete their degree whilst maintaining their wellbeing.

You will assess student needs and work collaboratively to develop strategies which facilitate independent learning and successful participation in higher education. This includes assessing and mitigating risk and making referrals to statutory services where appropriate. In addition, you will provide guidance and training to colleagues in Student Services and across the wider university. Student Wellbeing is a supportive team, and we value professional collaboration to deliver a safe and effective service for our students. We are looking for someone who can work flexibly and build positive and collaborative relationships with colleagues in our wider service and across the University.

The role is fully campus-based, and you will be required to work at both our City Centre and Headingley campuses.
