Group Reporting AccountantReporting to the
Director of Finance for this impressive Business Service client.
The
Group Reporting Accountant is responsible for performing the group consolidation, producing financial statements and managing the audit process. Additional areas of involvement will be the group-wide entity rationalisation project, thefinancial reporting system transformation project and providing the wider business with technical accounting expertise
Your core responsibilities
- Perform group consolidation and produce financial statements at both half year and year end
- Manage external auditors throughout the year to ensure a smooth year end audit process
- Prepare annual accounts for individual statutory entities
- Support operational finance personnel across the business to solve problems
- Review tax numbers produced by the tax team
- Colead the ongoing entity rationalisation project to simplify the group structure and improve efficiency
- Provide a source of expertise on technical accounting areas including pensions, derivatives and service concession arrangements going forward
- Produce technical accounting papers where required
- Exercise judgement on acquisition accounting
- Involvement in the ongoing design, data migration and implementation of the new financial reporting system
- Interact with the treasury team on certain areas such as covenant calculations
- Identify areas where new controls and processes could be established
Requirements:
- Recognised accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
- Experience from a professional services firm and/or group finance in a large corporate
- Experience of group consolidation and producing statutory accounts
- Strong understanding of IFRS accounting standards and ability to produce technical accounting papers
- Advanced Excel and top class analytical skills
- Confident and able to challenge / influence stakeholders at all levels
- Well organised with excellent attention to detail
- Strong time management with the ability to prioritise effectively
- Adaptable with the ability work effectively under pressure and deliver to tight deadlines
