  • Temp to Perm**We are looking for a Learning Support Assistant to work within a college based within the Greenwich Borough for students with a primary diagnosis of Autism / challenging behavior.


The students come from a wide range of backgrounds, but many will also have other Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) such as ADHD, and communication difficulties.

The work they do is both varied and challenging and, all staff are provided with extensive therapeutic training and support.


The Role
The school require very special individuals who can support children with complex and challenging behaviours.

LSAs will understand that the children require lots of attention, communication, consistency and flexibility in equal measure, and a non-judgmental approach.

They need to be resilient, persistent and solution focused to meet the needs of our pupils.


Teaching Assistants will:


  • Support teaching and learning
  • Work with children 1:1 or delivering sessions with small groups of students.
  • Manage classroom resources.
  • Take children on educational trips and visits.
  • Have their lunch with children who struggle socially.
  • Have a good basic understanding or English and Maths
  • Keep children safe when they are experiencing heightened behaviours with strong behaviour management skills and excellent communication.
  • Create, play and teach games to pupils to develop their social skills or further learning.
  • Be paid £80 £110 a day based on experience.
  • Have confidence.
  • Have a sense of humour

Requirements:


  • Previous experience working with students, preferably in an educational setting
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Knowledge of tutoring techniques and strategies
  • Familiarity with working with students with autism or other special needs is a plus
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to build rapport with students
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team

Complete Classroom Services are highly committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment.

You will be expected to hold or be willing to obtain Enhanced DBS check or Enhanced check for Regulated Activity with the Disclosure & Barring Services (previously the Criminal Records Bureau) and undergo due diligence checks on social media use.

All school-based staff have the responsibility for promoting the safeguarding and welfare of children.

All school staff should be aware of the school's Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy and work in accordance with this document at all times.
