Working within a busy children's unit with a variable and demanding workload to ensure a high standard of quality play and support.

NHSEI have always been clear that staff have a professional duty to get vaccinated and it remains our best line of defence against COVID-19.

As such NHS organisation including Primary Care, are encouraged to continue engaging with and supporting their staff to inform their decisions in order to drive vaccine confidence, protect themselves, patients, and everyone else.

NHSEI has producedCOVID-19 vaccine communication materials.

  • To carry out assigned tasks involving the direct/indirect care of the child in support of, and supervised by, a qualified nurse.
  • To engage with children and families to enhance the experience of the child in hospital through play and stimulation.
  • To enable children to express and communicate through play and other media.
  • To participate in the maintenance of high standards of patient care in response to service needs.
  • Provide support for families.
  • To delivering programmes of play and distraction both developmental and therapeutic.
