Description
We're recruiting for a
Delivery Specialist on a permanent basis, to join our growing Digital Workplace Technology team.

The Digital Workplace team is newly formed, within Technology, to manage the Digital Workplace apps and tools while engaging with business areas to simplify and improve the way they work.

The Digital Workplace consists of the following teams; Business Transformation, Design, Applications and Technology.

The Delivery Specialist will manage and evolve the Business Transformation function within the Digital Transformation team, accountable for the delivery of numerous transformation initiatives and continual improvement of ways of working within Penguin Random House UK.

The Business Transformation initiatives are fed through discovery and services carried out by other members of the team as well as vital relationships the Delivery Specialist will build within the publishing houses and business areas.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Building and managing business stakeholders alongside the Head of Digital Workplace, ensuring the relationship between the different business areas and Technology stays strong and aligned.
  • Identifying and evaluating ways of working or processes that require improvement, where the Digital Workplace tools can address running efficient meetings, collaboration and hybrid working.
  • Planning, executing and delivering Digital Workplace projects and initiatives within agreed timelines and to budget.
  • Identifying the detailed requirements for the projects and initiatives, working with the Digital Workplace Business Analyst and Designer, and establish a clear and concise plan.
  • Driving the business change elements of the change through communication, business readiness and training, working closely with the Business Change team.
  • Driving transformation, formalising decisions, capturing outputs, escalating issues and creating the momentum required.
  • Developing an agile approach to tracking progress, actions and risks.
  • Collaborating with the Digital Workplace Designer to generate and document appropriate solutions designs.
  • Inputting into the Digital Workplace Architectural Roadmap.

To succeed in this role, you will:

  • Be experienced in Agile Delivery Frameworks (ideally Scrum or Kanban).
  • Have experience in helping a company transition from traditional practices to Scrum or Kanban.
  • Be able to demonstrate a full understanding of the Digital Product Development Lifecycle and Best Practices.
  • Have experience of process redesign approaches.
  • Have experience supporting the delivery of quality improvement initiatives.
  • Be analytical and use your problemsolving skills to use available information to generate creative solutions to benefit the business.
  • Have strong attention to detail and the ability to work in a deadline driven environment.
  • Be highly proficient in Microsoft Office, including Power Point and Excel.
  • Be highly proficient in Jira and Confluence.
  • Have good communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Be a natural selfstarter who is adaptable, flexible and has an ability to assimilate and absorb new information quickly.

Our approach to hybrid working:

We're currently experimenting with hybrid working and involving colleagues across the business to shape our future ways of working. The needs of our teams and individuals are different, so we're not taking a one-size-fits-all approach.

While our offices are places to connect, collaborate and celebrate with colleagues, we recognise that flexibility about where you work is just as important for doing your best work and for your wellbeing.

For this role, there are meetings and activities that you will need to attend in-person, mainly at our offices in London or Colchester.

The exact balance of office to remote working will depend on the nature of your role and team needs, and we are open to discussing this through the recruitment process.
