This KTP project aims to develop novel, real-time wheel alignment fault detection system (AutoAlign for cars & vans) that will deliver accurate fault detection of wheel misalignment, enabling drivers and fleet operators to reduce power consumption and minimise air pollution caused by excess exhaust emissions and tyre wear.

This role will advance the current AutoAlign hardware and firmware work to implement prototypes for build, test, debug, and validation.


Key skills and experience required:


  • Experience in embedded systems and wireless sensors
  • Experience in working with RTC, BLE, IMU and Arduino IDE.
  • Knowledge/ understanding of operation of signal processing and machine learning would be of a distinct advantage.
  • Good problemsolving skills
  • Good project management skills are required with the ability to develop work plans under his/her own initiative and work to deadlines.
  • Ability to balance technical and commercial interests of the project.

  • Proactive attitude to cope with the typical daytoday challenges encountered in working in a technologybased industry, finding original solutions that will be crucial to deliver the project with the necessary high levels of innovation

  • Selfmotivated and confident with good persuasion and negotiation skills.
  • Fit in with the organisational culture and present a positive image of the company to clients.

Aston University:

You will work in a project team with Dr Yu Jia, Dr George Vogiatzis and Dr Maria Chli from College of Engineering and Physical Sciences at Aston University, and the Senior Management Team at RL Capital Ltd with the support of the IUK's Knowledge Transfer Adviser.


Location:

You will be based predominantly at RL Capital in Basingstoke but will also have access to facilities at Aston University in central Birmingham.

Some travel to key clients may also be required.
