Main Purpose:
The project lead / manager will be responsible for day-to-day management of projects and must be competent in managing the six key aspects of any project, i.e., scope, schedule, finance, risk, quality, and resources.
Main Responsibilities:
Project Management:
- Build and develop the project team to ensure maximum performance, providing purpose, direction, guidance, mentorship, and motivation.
- Lead projects from initiation through execution, identifying schedules, scopes, budget estimations, and project implementation plans, including risk mitigation.
- To coordinate internal and external resources, ensuring projects remain within scope, schedule, and defined budgets, in collaboration with colleagues from various functional departments.
- Analyse project progress and, when necessary, adapt scope, timelines, and costs to ensure that project team adheres to project requirements.
- Establish and maintain relationships with appropriate client stakeholders, providing daytoday contact on project status and changes.
- Ensure the work is done to the right standard.
- Ensure the projects deliver the expected outcomes and benefits.
Project Engineering:
Dependent on team workload, the incumbent will, from time to time, be responsible for delivering assigned projects and supporting the delivery of projects encompassing, but not limited to, the following:
- Administration of assigned project files
- Liaison with clients and subcontractors
- Preparation of work procedures and risk assessments
- Production, verification, and validation of engineering solutions to comply with international codes and standards, relevant to both oil and other industries.
- Development and management of project schedules
- Completion of purchase requisitions
- Arrange equipment dispatch and transportation.
- Lead site / offshore work scopes as required.
- Completion of close out reports and technical documentation.
- Proactive financial control of assigned projects, and review invoice drafts.
- Ensure major risks associated with the delivery of engineering projects are fully understood and effectively mitigated and managed.
- Review of work produced by others, providing feedback and identifying corrective actions.
Process Development:
- Assist with the development of project management systems and working methods.
- Assist with the development of engineering systems and processes.
- To support and participate in audits of applicable engineering processes and procedures.
Personal Development:
- It is expected that the incumbent will attend, and actively participate in, all training provided by company, whether internally or externally provided.
- Carry out continuing professional development necessary to maintain and enhance competence in own area of responsibility.
Skills / Qualifications:
- Proven experience working in a project management environment
- Strong attention to deadlines and budgetary guidelines
- Experience developing inhouse platforms for internal process improvements
- Experience coaching and educating project team members to strengthen capabilities and skill sets.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills, to manage expectations
- The ability to use initiative and make decisions under pressure
- Proven success working with all levels of management
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong presentation skills
- Proven experience in onshore / offshore construction, modifications, and maintenance projects.
- HND / Degree in Technical Subject Matter (preferred)
- Professional Qualification in Project Management (PMI / APM)
