Location - Dundee

Overview:
First Military Recruitment is working in partnership with our client to recruit a Gas Turbine Component Repair Engineer to join their team in Dundee.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Development, planning, and implementation of repair work scopes for gas turbine components.
- Production of documentation / drawings, tooling design etc.
- Communication and support to customers, suppliers and internal personnel.
- Application of NPI principles and working within a gated process.
- Focus on the key performance indicators of Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost.
Skills and Experience:
- The role would ideally suit someone with previous experience in component repair, but our client will also consider those from other sectors/industries looking for a new role in project engineering such as:
- Aerospace engineers/technicians with knowledge of gas turbine engines.
- Welding engineers with strong materials knowledge.
- Engineers with experience in thermal processes (heat treatments, plasma spray etc.).
- Surface treatment and protective coating processes.
- Relevant Degree / HND qualification, or completion of apprenticeship.
- Technical knowledge of tool design and manufacture.
- LEAN / continuous improvement principles and techniques.
- Experience of weld / braze / heat treat / NDT.
- Experience in the production of FAIR documentation.
- Ability to plan work scopes and estimate tasks.
- Prior experience of working within a continuous improvement environment and the ability to drive improvement actions.
- An understanding of standard engineering principles and processes.
- Problem solving and ability to work with mínimal product information.
- Ability to develop, discuss and describe engineering solutions to technical issues.
- The capability to handle multiple projects / scopes of work simultaneously.
- Equally capable of working on own initiative or as part of a team.
- Have well developed interpersonal and communication skills.
- AutoCAD capability / MS software literacy.
