Join The Big Issue and change the future.

Are you a reporter focused on telling the real stories rising in society today, the issues that hammer down on those left behind? Are you keen to not just report the news, but help make change happen? We're looking for you.

We want a reporter who can bring light and focus to the challenges faced by some of society's most vulnerable people, through no fault of their own.

We don't just want the same voices that others publish, but unique insights that frequently tell a wider story.

You will be across housing, finance, health, access to employment and how political influence intersects all of this.

You will be bursting to tell stories of the people impacted and explore solutions that improve lives, now and in the future.

Big Issue is solution-focused, whether through championing innovators, looking to technology or where the grassroots ideas are growing that will better shape society.

You will be able to deliver all this with a zip and wit and bring pace not preachiness. There is always room for cultural insights too. We want to know that you know what is going on in the world.

You will be responsible for creating articles and producing journalism across all of Big Issue's editorial platforms, developing contacts and grassroots champions.

You will bring an understanding of audience interests, driving traffic to the various branches of the wider Big Issue Group and raising the profile of Big Issue and its mission in everything you do.

You will have at least two years' experience in a newsroom, magazine or similar publication.

You will be self-motivated and a team player, with a good nose for stories and ability to explain complex issues to readers.

The Big Issue Group exists to create and champion innovative solutions through enterprise, to unlock social and economic opportunity for the 14.5m people in the UK living in poverty to earn, learn and thrive.
